BlockDAG Sees 10 Billion Tokens Staked as Cardano and Ethereum Show Diverging Trends
BlockDAG has reported significant staking activity, with over 10 billion tokens locked in since activating its claiming and staking features. This move comes as Cardano's price remains subdued, trading at lower historical levels. In contrast, Ethereum continues to show steady settlement volume, but its large market capitalization makes rapid price moves less likely.
Cardano, built with a focus on academic research and formal methods, has struggled with slower adoption and governance discussions. The project-oriented consensus approach can be slower to implement than execution-focused alternatives. Despite strong underlying security and over 1.3 million active stakers, the network faces challenges in navigating market conditions.
Ethereum, on the other hand, remains a leading smart contract platform with ongoing user adoption and significant stablecoin settlement volume. However, the ecosystem continues to contend with Layer-2 fragmentation and variable mainnet gas fees during demand spikes.
