Blockradar Hits $1 Billion in Transactions, Validates African Stablecoin Infrastructure
Nigerian startup Blockradar has achieved a significant milestone by reaching $1 billion in total transaction volume, marking a 10x growth in just one year. Founded in late 2024, Blockradar is a stablecoin wallet infrastructure company that allows fintechs to integrate stablecoins without building blockchain infrastructure from scratch.
The platform's API enables businesses to issue wallets, send and receive stablecoins like USDC and USDT, monitor transactions, perform AML checks, and manage treasury flows. Blockradar's early adopters include cross-border payment platforms, gig economy apps, and neobanks, which are at the forefront of Africa's stablecoin adoption wave.
Blockradar's founder, Abdulfatai Suleiman, had a previous venture, Lazerpay, which shut down in 2023 due to the crypto winter. However, he went on to contribute to core payment infrastructure at Paystack before returning to build Blockradar, specifically addressing the infrastructure gap that hindered his previous project.
