Blockstream Launches Swaps to Simplify Mainchain-Lightning Transfers

Blockstream has introduced Blockstream Swaps, allowing users to move funds between the main Bitcoin chain and the Lightning Network without losing control over their assets.

The feature was developed in response to the suspension of non-custodial Bitcoin swap provider Boltz due to a surge in AI-assisted attacks that left it unable to operate safely.

With Blockstream Swaps, users do not need to run a node or channel to use Lightning and can hold a balance of Bitcoin (BTC) or LBTC and have it converted at the moment of payment.
