Blockstream Refuses Ransom After Liquid Network Exploit

Blockstream recently faced a significant exploit on its Liquid Network. On September 6, 2026, nearly 4,000 BTC were drained from the network.

The hackers behind the attack returned 3,400 BTC to the federation's wallet on September 8, 2026.

Although they retained a portion of the stolen funds, Blockstream refused to pay a ransom, choosing instead to absorb the losses.
