Blockworks' Token Transparency Framework Gains Momentum in Crypto Industry
The crypto industry has long struggled with transparency issues, from token projects launching with vague whitepapers to unclear governance structures. In an effort to standardize disclosures and improve investor confidence, Blockworks launched the Token Transparency Framework (TTF) in June 2025.
The TTF organizes disclosures into two filing types: B-1 for one-time disclosures around token generation events, and B-2 for ongoing updates from more mature protocols. The B-2 update places a focus on distinguishing organic growth from purchased growth by highlighting offchain financials.
Each filing receives a transparency score, measuring the completeness of disclosures. Initial scores exceeded 35, serving as a benchmark for disclosure completeness across processed filings.
The TTF has gained momentum since its launch, with over 44 protocols utilizing it for their disclosures by May 2026. The target is to surpass 200 protocols by year-end. To support the framework and promote broader adoption, Blockworks established the Crypto Transparency Alliance in late May 2026, comprising over 40 firms including Coinbase and Kraken.
Blockworks also launched RapidFile in August 2026, a tool designed to automate the filing process and lower the barrier to participation. The TTF aims to ensure that offchain legal and economic contexts are readily available for tokenized assets, complementing existing onchain data while fostering self-regulatory and regulatory engagement.
