BMO Exposes $303B Portfolio Holdings in XRP-Linked ETFs
Bank of Montreal (BMO) has revealed its exposure to XRP through regulated exchange-traded funds in its latest portfolio filing. According to regulatory data, BMO holds 323 shares of the REX-Osprey XRP ETF (XRPR) and 20 shares of the ProShares Ultra XRP ETF within a portfolio valued at over $303 billion as of June 2026.
The exposure is achieved through regulated exchange-traded products, allowing traditional financial institutions to gain crypto exposure without directly managing tokens or private keys. The REX-Osprey fund provides exposure to XRP's performance, giving banks a familiar investment vehicle while participating in the expanding digital-asset market.
These disclosures contribute to growing institutional access to XRP through regulated markets. However, 13F filings provide a delayed snapshot of investments, and future filings will be necessary for understanding changes in BMO's positions and whether other major banks follow suit.
