BNB Chain Employee Accused of Launching Meme Token ASTEROID Without Approval
A former employee of BNB Chain allegedly used company resources to create and launch a new meme token called ASTEROID without approval.
The employee, who is no longer with the company, retained unauthorized access to a tutorial wallet that was created for instructional purposes.
Using this access, they generated a new private key and launched ASTEROID, which they then used to buy 79.67% of the token's total one billion supply for approximately $10,000.
The same wallets later sold these tokens for roughly $638,000, resulting in an estimated profit of around $628,000.
