A scandal has rocked BNB Chain after the company linked the ASTEROID meme token to alleged insider misconduct.

The company claims a former employee created and controlled the wallet that launched ASTEROID, using it to acquire 796.7 million tokens, accounting for 79.67% of the total supply.

The employee allegedly generated a new private key after leaving BNB Chain, allowing them to control the wallet independently and launch the token without authorization.

The token's early distribution was highly concentrated, with most of its supply under the control of a single participant. This led to liquidity struggles and a crash by over 40% as those holdings entered the market.
