BNB Chain Unveils Agent Lifecycle Protocol v0.4 Draft for Autonomous AI Agents
BNB Chain has introduced the Agent Lifecycle Protocol (ALP) v0.4 draft, a standard for autonomous agent management and self-funding AI on the blockchain.
The protocol addresses key gaps in the economic autonomy of software agents, including wallet binding, self-funding, and identity continuity.
ALP integrates existing standards like ERC-8183, ERC-8004, and EIP-3009 into a unified lifecycle model, allowing agents to independently fund their operations and migrate between runtimes without risk of losing their identity or financial assets.
The protocol defines an agent as a self-sustaining software process capable of holding a cryptographic wallet, registering on-chain identity, and enforcing owner-set spending guardrails. Agents can operate across different ecosystems without vendor lock-in due to the modularity of ALP.
