BNB Chain's Agentic Trading Bet: New Layer 1 Blockchain Planned
BNB Chain has announced plans to develop a new Layer 1 blockchain designed for agentic trading, aiming to move on-chain trading closer to centralized exchange speeds while preserving self-custody. The planned chain will sit alongside existing chains and is expected to ship on testnet by the end of 2026, with mainnet release following in early 2027.
The new blockchain will remove the public mempool and add reserved block space for time-sensitive actions such as liquidations, bridge transactions, and oracle updates. This design suggests the chain is focused on markets where timing can decide trade outcomes rather than routine transfers.
Despite the announcement, BNB traded near $561 in the hours following, with a muted market reaction. TradingView data showed an RSI near 30, while the MACD remained below its signal line. Aggregated Open Interest stood near $536 million, below a recent peak.
