BNB Chain's AI-Powered Upgrade Could Close Gap with Ethereum
BNB Chain, the blockchain behind Binance Coin (BNB), is gearing up for a major infrastructure shift. A new Layer-1 designed for autonomous AI agents and high-frequency trading will be tested on a testnet by late 2026, with the mainnet expected to launch in early 2027. This upgrade could potentially close the gap between BNB and Ethereum.
The current design of BNB Chain targets over 100,000 transactions per second, allowing for direct transaction streaming and fast pre-confirmations for automated trading and AI workloads. The testnet is set to be launched in late 2026, which will give investors a clear catalyst for the BNB price prediction.
The use of BNB Chain has already benefited from low-fee trading and decentralized applications. The new design targets AI agents that require frequent, cheap transactions, as seen with MemeToro's AI memecoin launchpad being built on BNB Chain. If developers and users adopt this infrastructure, it could add another source of network demand for BNB.
The testnet's success in reaching its speed goals and attracting real applications will shift the focus from roadmap excitement to measurable usage, giving future valuation models stronger evidence. The longer-term BNB price prediction is less certain, with forecasts placing 2027-2028 around $739-$900, but higher outcomes are possible if AI and ecosystem activity expand.
