BNB Chain's Pasteur Hard Fork Activates August 25 with Record-Breaking TPS
BNB Chain's Pasteur hard fork is set to activate on August 25 after successful testing reached a throughput of 2,324 transactions per second (TPS) on QANet.
The upgrade combines three proposals: BEP-675, BEP-682, and BEP-695, which address different parts of BSC operations. BEP-675 changes how builders and validators handle block execution during the production process, reducing critical-path processing from 125 milliseconds to 15 milliseconds in controlled tests.
Node operators must install client version 1.7.7 before activation, while regular users and most application developers do not need to take any action. The Pasteur hard fork will bring changes to block processing, cross-chain verification, and validator governance.
