BNB Chain's Pasteur Hard Fork Activates with 2,324 TPS Test Results
The BNB Chain has activated its mandatory Pasteur hard fork, which brings changes to block processing, cross-chain verification, and validator governance. The upgrade requires every BSC mainnet node to run client version 1.7.7 before activation.
The hard fork combines three proposals: BEP-675, BEP-682, and BEP-695. BEP-675 changes how builders and validators handle block execution during the time-sensitive production process, reducing critical-path processing from 125 milliseconds to 15 milliseconds and increasing throughput to 2,324 transactions per second on QANet.
BEP-682 addresses cross-chain verification by checking validator signatures before accepting information from another chain. This proposal closes a validator-set verification gap, ensuring that each validator appears only once in a submitted set.
