BNB Poised for AI-Powered Growth as Testnet Launch Nears
The Binance-based cryptocurrency BNB is set to undergo significant changes in the coming years. As its AI blockchain nears testnet launch, some are wondering if it can close the gap with Ethereum.
BNB Chain's new infrastructure aims to support fast pre-confirmations for automated trading and AI workloads, targeting over 100,000 transactions per second. The design also focuses on low-fee trading and decentralized applications, which could give BNB an edge in certain areas.
The testnet is planned for late 2026, followed by mainnet in early 2027. This has raised expectations among investors, with some predicting a price target of $800 to $886 by the end of 2026 and potentially reaching above $900 by 2028.
However, replacing Ethereum entirely looks unlikely, as Ethereum has a strong institutional base, deep DeFi liquidity, and major Layer-2 networks. BNB Chain competes differently, focusing on lower fees and fast applications, which could help it gain market share in specific areas such as AI agents and trading.
