BNB Surges Past Ethereum and Solana in Grayscale Smart Contract Fund
The Grayscale Smart Contract Fund has made a surprise move by ranking Binance's native token (BNB) as its top holding at approximately 30.6% after the fund's Q2 2026 rebalance, effective August 3.
This marks a significant shift in the portfolio, with BNB surpassing Ethereum and Solana in allocation, which have dominated the fund since its inception on March 16, 2022.
The addition of BNB to the top spot is not due to Grayscale's portfolio managers picking favorites but rather a result of the market-cap-weighted methodology used by the CoinDesk Smart Contract Platform Select Capped Index.
The fund's total assets under management are approximately $1.56 million, with a net asset value per share of $5.04 as of August 5 and an expense ratio of 2.50%.
