$BNKR Token Suffers Selling Pressure After Bankr X Account Hacked

Share

The Bankr X account was compromised by attackers who sent out fake airdrop links to users, sparking security fears and causing selling pressure on the $BNKR token. According to statements from the Bankr developer deployer, the team had lost control of the @bankrbot X account after attackers gained access and began publishing fraudulent airdrop promotions.

The developers publicly appealed to X and its executives Nikita Bier to remove the malicious content and help figure out how the breach took place. Before confirming the compromise, the team had already reported being locked out of the account and unable to regain access through standard recovery methods.

Users are advised to strengthen their account protection by turning on multi-factor authentication (MFA) in their Bankr accounts. The developers encouraged consumers to take this step, citing that depending only on security options from social media platforms may not be enough to secure crypto-related assets.
