BNY Mellon Teams Up with Galaxy Digital on Institutional-Grade Staking
Wall Street giant BNY Mellon has taken another step into digital assets by partnering with Galaxy Digital to offer staking services through its custody platform.
The move is part of a broader trend as institutional investors seek more comprehensive solutions for managing their crypto holdings. By integrating staking directly into its Digital Asset Custody platform, eligible clients can earn rewards while keeping their assets under the same custody and reporting systems used for traditional holdings.
Galaxy Digital supplies the infrastructure that keeps validators online and producing rewards. The firm manages about $3.2 billion in staked assets as of March 31, 2026.
The partnership marks a significant expansion into digital assets for BNY Mellon, which holds $62.6 trillion in custody assets and has already added various crypto-related services such as bitcoin and ethereum custody, tokenized deposit services, and USDC custody support.
