Boltz Halted by AI-Assisted Attacks: Bitcoin Bridge Suspends Swap Service

Boltz, a non-custodial Bitcoin bridge, has suspended its swap service indefinitely due to an onslaught of AI-assisted attacks. The company claims that its ability to patch vulnerabilities is being outpaced by these automated probing efforts.

In a series of posts on X, Boltz stated that no user funds were at risk because the platform is non-custodial. This means users retain control of their assets throughout the process.

The company's API remains available for processing cooperative refunds, and unilateral refunds continue to function without relying on Boltz's infrastructure.

Boltz argued that the attacks reflect a broader shift in the Bitcoin ecosystem, where AI-assisted attacks are becoming increasingly common. The company warned that swap services may not resume shortly, citing the need for careful analysis of this paradigm shift.
