Boltz Pauses Service Amid Rise in AI-Driven Probing Attempts

Boltz, a non-custodial Bitcoin swap provider, has temporarily suspended its service due to an increase in AI-driven probing attempts against its infrastructure. The company cited a sharp rise in automated attacks over recent months, which its small security team cannot patch quickly enough.

In its statement on X, Boltz mentioned that it has dealt with several exploits during this period and contained each incident individually, but the attackers are now iterating faster than the service can remediate. The company emphasized that no user funds have been at risk due to the non-custodial nature of its swaps.

Boltz stated that it cannot responsibly re-enable swaps while being actively targeted by multiple groups, and fixes are still in progress. The firm's decision reflects a recurring theme in crypto security: when attackers can automate discovery and testing, the window for defenders to respond shrinks.
