Boltz Shuts Down Swap Services Amid AI-Driven Attack Surge
Boltz, a noncustodial Bitcoin bridge, has halted its swap services indefinitely due to a surge in automated AI-assisted attacks. The company claims that attackers are adapting faster than its team can identify and patch flaws.
The attacks began months ago, but accelerated sharply in recent days, leaving the development team unable to deploy fixes as quickly as attackers adapted their methods.
No user funds were at risk during the incidents, according to Boltz, which also stated that it absorbed all operational losses itself. However, users cannot initiate new swaps through the affected service until operations resume or integrated wallets introduce alternative providers.
The company's API remains online for cooperative refunds, and support is still available for customers with unfinished transactions.
