Boltzmann Machine Shut Down by AI Attacks, Acquired by Seasoned Bitcoin Team
The Boltzmann Machine platform, a non-custodial Bitcoin exchange, has been acquired by a seasoned team of professionals in the industry after it was forced to shut down due to AI attacks. The platform's original team, consisting of five members, had self-funded their project but ultimately resigned on August 3 after sustaining significant financial losses from these attacks.
The company, which prides itself on its non-custodial architecture that ensures user funds remain secure, was unable to withstand the onslaught of sophisticated AI-driven threats. According to Woofun AI, the frequency and intensity of these attacks surged in the last week, leading to a service outage.
Fortunately, thanks to the platform's security features, user assets were not compromised. The new team has committed both financial and technical resources to identify and remediate vulnerabilities, with the goal of restoring exchange services as soon as possible while maintaining the platform's hallmark features, privacy protection and user autonomy.
