BONK Governance Attack Sparks Concerns Over Long-Term Outlook

BONK, a Solana-based meme token, has seen significant volatility in recent times. With over 87.99 trillion tokens in circulation and a fixed maximum supply of 88.87 trillion, its tokenomics play a crucial role in determining its long-term value.

However, the token's recent governance attack on July 6, 2026, raises concerns about its long-term outlook. An attacker spent around $4.4 million to acquire enough voting power and pass a malicious proposal, transferring about 4.43 trillion BONK from the DAO treasury to the attacker's wallet.
