Boyaa Interactive Hit by Steep Decline in Bitcoin Holdings
Boyaa Interactive International Ltd., listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange as 0434.HK, suffered a significant financial setback in the first half of 2026. The company swung to a net loss of HK$790 million to HK$800 million, marking a stark contrast to its profit of HK$226 million in the same period last year.
The decline is largely attributed to a steep drop in the value of its Bitcoin holdings. Excluding changes in the fair value of financial assets, Boyaa's first-half profit actually surged by 120% to 125% year-over-year, driven primarily by an increase in online gaming revenue.
Despite this, shares of Boyaa opened flat at HK$2.315 on Tuesday and have fallen more than 70% from their 52-week high.
