BPI Demands Early Access to AI Models for Crypto Security
The Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) has issued an open letter to AI firms requesting early access to their upcoming models. This push for earlier model access is aimed at strengthening the security of cryptocurrency infrastructure and mitigating the rising threat of AI-driven attacks.
According to the BPI, current AI models have the capability to identify vulnerabilities in large code bases and handle complex security tasks efficiently. However, without early access, open-source developers will be forced to rely on outdated security software to defend against these threats.
The BPI emphasized that this is no longer a luxury but an absolute necessity, citing the increasing number of AI-driven attacks on small open-source teams. By providing early model access and computing resources, the BPI hopes to improve the resilience and adoption of cryptocurrency infrastructure, ultimately leading to better risk management for DeFi, DEXs, and CEXs.
