Brandt-Induced Rally Sends Bitcoin Rocketing Towards $80K
Bitcoin has staged a remarkable recovery from its lows in July to near $80,000 as of August 21. The 27% gain is attributed to veteran trader Peter Brandt's reversal of his bearish stance after spotting an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern.
Brandt initially predicted that Bitcoin would drop to the $58,000, $62,000 range earlier this year but turned bullish following the technical breakout. The rally was further supported by short liquidations and inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs totaling $1.92 billion over five sessions.
The strong macroeconomic backdrop has also contributed to the price surge, with weaker US Treasury yields and a softer dollar providing favorable conditions for Bitcoin.
