Brandt's Bitcoin Forecast Still Valid Despite Recent Price Action
Peter Brandt's Bitcoin price forecast of $58,000 to $62,000, made in January when BTC traded near $92,400, initially seemed to be proven wrong as prices surged past $79,500. However, the historical price record shows that Brandt correctly identified a trading zone months later during the 2026 downturn.
Bitcoin fell to approximately $57,717 on July 1 before rebounding toward $79,500 by August 21. This recent rally does not invalidate the completed forecast but rather shows that market conditions changed after Bitcoin reached the area Brandt identified.
The U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs drew $1.92 billion across five sessions during the latest weekly rally. Treasury will double long-dated buybacks to at least $4 billion per operation beginning September 9, which may have contributed to the change in liquidity conditions and the subsequent price action.
