Brazil Introduces Delay on Large Crypto Transfers Starting 2027
Brazil has announced plans to introduce delays on cryptocurrency transfers exceeding $10,000. According to the country's regulations, transfers above this threshold will face a maximum delay of 24 hours starting from 2027.
The new rule will apply to international service providers and self-custody wallets, as well as transactions involving Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies. If a single transaction exceeds $10,000 in value, it may be subject to additional scrutiny.
This move marks the latest step in Brazil's ongoing efforts to strengthen its cryptocurrency regulations, which have been in place since 2023. The country has implemented various measures aimed at improving oversight and reducing risks associated with cryptocurrency transactions.
