Brazil Leaps Ahead as Crypto Investors Outnumber Stock Holders by Nearly 3:1
Brazil has emerged as a global leader in digital asset adoption, with a new survey revealing that crypto investors outnumber stock investors by nearly three to one. The study, conducted by Brazilian research firms Paradigma and Datafolha, found that 17.2% of respondents had invested in cryptocurrencies, compared to just 6.4% who held stocks.
The gap between crypto and stock ownership in Brazil is significant, with an estimated 29 million people investing in digital assets. This figure underscores the growing mainstream acceptance of cryptocurrencies in one of Latin America's largest economies.
Crypto ranked fifth among investment vehicles, behind savings accounts, real estate, cash holdings, and investment funds. However, it notably outperformed traditional options such as time deposits at banks, foreign currencies, and gold.
The majority of crypto investors in Brazil (83%) use banking apps to buy or hold digital assets, rather than dedicated exchanges. This trend reflects the growing role of traditional finance in driving adoption.
