Brazil Sets Pace for Digital Asset Regulation Amid Global Interest
Brazil's digital asset market is gaining attention for its rapid regulatory development. The country moved from a broad legislative framework to detailed, operational regulations in just three years, with the most significant requirements introduced in the last twelve months.
Nagel Paulino, Head of the Regulatory Division at the Central Bank of Brazil, noted that the market itself recognized the need for regulation, allowing rules to advance quickly. This collaboration between regulators and operators has enabled Brazil to establish a comprehensive framework for Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs).
CertiK's Chief Business Officer Jason Jiang emphasized that Brazil's granular regulations provide clarity for companies entering the market. He highlighted the importance of technological infrastructure, on-chain monitoring solutions, and incident response procedures in meeting regulatory requirements.
