Brazil Slaps Crypto Transfers with 24-Hour Delay

Share

Brazil's central bank has announced that certain cryptocurrency transfers will face delays of up to 24 hours as part of its new anti-fraud regulation.

The rule targets transfers over $10,000 to foreign virtual-asset firms or self-custody wallets, measured per transaction or daily customer totals.

This measure aims to curb illicit use of stablecoins in scams and ransomware, which often exploit crypto speed to bypass security checks.
