Brazilian Developers Take Center Stage in Open-Source Bitcoin Development
The Vinteum organization has reported on the success of its Bitcoin Dev Launchpad program, which provides training and mentorship to developers in open-source Bitcoin development. The first cohort of the program produced tangible results, with participants securing independent grants from organizations like OpenSats and BDK Foundation, being hired by global companies, and becoming grantees themselves.
The Vinteum also supported contributors' participation in conferences, workshops, and residencies, allowing them to work directly with maintainers, researchers, and other contributors. Today, 36 members of the Vinteum community are actively working on open-source Bitcoin development.
However, the second cohort faced a unique challenge: the rise of AI-generated code. To address this issue, the Vinteum shifted its focus from evaluating candidates based solely on their output to assessing their ability to explain and defend their decisions.
