Brazilian Prosecutors Train with Tron and Tether on Cryptocurrency Asset Recovery

Brazil's National Council of the Public Ministry (CNMP) recently hosted a two-day training program in Brasília, focusing on investigating and recovering cryptocurrency assets. The event, which took place on August 26-27, brought together prosecutors, magistrates, law-enforcement personnel, public officials, and specialists from various institutions, including Tron and Tether. CNMP's Institutional Activity to Combat Organized Crime organized the program to promote knowledge exchange and best practices among institutions working with virtual assets.

The agenda covered topics such as the blockchain ecosystem, cross-sector cooperation for freezing and seizing assets, custody models for virtual assets, and public management of seized assets. The training also included sessions on anti-money-laundering prevention and sanctions in a cross-border setting. Representatives from Tron gave an opening presentation on blockchain fundamentals and decentralized autonomous organizations.

Tron's participation was significant, as the company joined other industry participants, including Digital Currencies Governance Group, Ledger, and Crystal Intelligence. The training focused on operational steps between identifying a cryptoasset trail and securing an investigative result, involving location, freezing, seizure, custody, management, and disposal of assets.
