British Investor Recovers $4.5 Million Worth of Bitcoin After 14-Year Ordeal

A British investor, known as Chris, has recovered Bitcoin worth over $4.5 million after a 14-year ordeal.

Chris bought approximately £1,500 of Bitcoin in December 2011 through the now-defunct exchange Britcoin, which later changed its name to Intersango.

The exchange began experiencing issues in late 2012 and became completely inaccessible by early 2014. Users who attempted to withdraw their assets reportedly received no response.

Chris tried to retrieve his Bitcoin but couldn't log into his account. He eventually gave up, regarding the assets as lost. 'The hardest part was watching the Bitcoin price rise and thinking about what I could have done with that money,' Chris said.
