British Man Recovers £3.3M Frozen Bitcoin After 12-Year Nightmare
A British man who invested in Bitcoin back in 2011 has made a remarkable recovery of £3.3 million after 12 years.
The man, identified only as Chris, bought Bitcoin through Intersango, one of Britain's earliest exchanges, when it was worth just a few pounds.
However, the platform went offline in 2014 and Chris discovered his account had been frozen with £4,000 worth of Bitcoin stuck inside.
With the option to recover the assets being very limited due to Intersango not being regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Chris assumed it was gone for good.
But after approaching CEL Solicitors earlier this year with his wife's encouragement, lawyers gathered documentation proving ownership and successfully negotiated its return through US courts.
