A British man named Chris has recovered £3.3 million in Bitcoin that he thought was lost forever after his exchange, Intersango, shut down in 2014.

He had bought Bitcoin back in 2011 for £1,500 when the price was just a few pounds, but due to the unregulated status of the exchange, his account became inaccessible. The shutdown left him without access to his funds for over a decade.

Chris eventually recovered his lost Bitcoin through legal efforts with the help of a specialist firm, coinciding with a strong market rally that allowed him to plan selling some and using the funds to buy a bigger home.
