Broadridge's DLR Platform Smashes Records with $8T July Volume
Broadridge Financial Solutions processed an unprecedented $8 trillion in volume through its Distributed Ledger Repo (DLR) platform in July, marking a significant milestone for institutional financing. The daily average of $365 billion represents a substantial increase of 28% compared to the same period last year.
The DLR platform enables institutions to settle repo transactions on blockchain technology without disrupting their existing trading and post-trade environments. This allows for real-time financing and the movement of tokenized collateral between counterparties, enhancing liquidity management and operational efficiency.
Broadridge's global head of digital innovation, Horacio Barakat, emphasized that 'tokenization is increasingly becoming part of how institutions optimize liquidity and collateral management.' The company's adoption of blockchain technology extends beyond DLR, with its onchain governance platform being used by Galaxy for shareholder votes and corporate governance participation.
