BSTR, Cantor SPAC Abandon Bitcoin Treasury Deal Amid Market Pressures
BSTR Holdings and Cantor Equity Partners I (Nasdaq: CEPO) have terminated their planned business combination, citing weak pricing for publicly listed Bitcoin treasury vehicles and disruptions in capital markets.
The companies had agreed to end the transaction on July 16, 2025, but financial terms associated with the termination were not disclosed.
BSTR attributed the decision to constrained capital-market conditions that have made instruments such as convertible bonds and perpetual preferred equity less efficient for amplifying Bitcoin exposure.
