BSTR Holdings' Public Listing Deal Collapses, Leaves Behind $15M Payout
Adam Back's ambitious plan to take BSTR Holdings (Cayman) public with a massive Bitcoin holding has officially been terminated, effectively scrapping the proposed listing and related deal worth $15 million. The termination agreement was signed on August 20, marking the end of an attempt to merge BSTR with Cantor Equity Partners I (CEPO). According to the terms, BSTR Holdings (Cayman) must pay CEPO $10 million by September 19 and another $5 million by December 1.
The proposed public listing, which aimed to list a vehicle with 30,021 BTC on day one, is now dead. The original plan involved pairing the 25,000 BTC from founding shareholders with 5,021 BTC from an in-kind private placement, alongside up to $1.5 billion in fiat financing.
BSTR has maintained that it will continue pursuing active Bitcoin treasury management strategies despite the collapse of the deal.
