BSV Price Surges Amid Ecosystem Vulnerabilities
Bitcoin SV (BSV) has been experiencing a steady upward trend over the last two weeks, with its price up nearly 2% on Friday. This surge in value is partly due to retail strength building in BSV amid multiple vulnerabilities found in the Bitcoin ecosystem.
The recent hack of the Coldcard wallet and approximately 8,000 issues discovered by the volunteer group Bitcoin Red Team using the Kimi K3 AI model have contributed to the increased demand for BSV. Additionally, the buzz around PiWalletSV, an air-gapped wallet for the Bitcoin SV ecosystem, has further boosted retail interest.
The data from CoinGlass shows that the BSV futures Open Interest (OI) is at $38.54 million, up from $31.87 million on August 1, indicating a significant surge in positional buildup. The funding rate remains stable at 0.0051%, reflecting steady demand for long positions.
Technically, Bitcoin SV's price is holding a bullish near-term bias as it extends above the 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) at $13.57 while remaining capped just beneath the 200-day EMA at $15.39. A trend reversal seems possible given the rebound in BSV from the $10.69 support level on June 25.
