BTC Dominance Hits 59% as Options Outpace Futures
According to a recent report from Coinbase and Glassnode, Bitcoin's dominance in the market has stabilized at around 59% as of the beginning of this year. This is despite mid- and small-cap assets struggling to maintain their gains from earlier rallies.
The report also notes that options open interest has surpassed perpetual futures for the first time since October, indicating a shift towards more conservative risk management strategies among investors.
This change in market dynamics may be attributed to last year's deleveraging event, which led to a decrease in leverage and a more disciplined approach to risk-taking. As a result, positions have shifted towards protective structures, with participants opting for hedging against further losses rather than exiting the market entirely.
