BTC Surges Past $69K, Boosting MSTR Shares Amid Institutional Buying
The price of Bitcoin (BTC) has surged past $69,000 for the first time since early June, causing shares of Strategy (MSTR) to climb over 3% in the overnight session.
This comes as institutional investors added to their positions in MSTR stock in the second quarter, with combined holdings increasing by $1.2 billion, according to a post on X from Strategy.
The surge in BTC's price coincided with a White House meeting where U.S. President Donald Trump hosted major crypto and fintech executives, including Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, Gemini's Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, Kraken operator Payward co-CEO Arjun Sethi, and Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev.
At the event, Trump touted the Clarity Act as critical to maintaining America's lead in emerging technologies, stating that it would 'keep us ahead of China, keep us ahead of everyone else.'
