BTC Surges Past $81K as SOL Hits New High and Ripple Expands on Wall Street
Bitcoin (BTC) has reached a 15-week high after a volatile week in the cryptocurrency market. The asset's price soared past $81,500 on Tuesday morning, marking a new 15-month peak, before slipping to $78,500 minutes later due to hawkish comments from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh at Jackson Hole.
However, BTC quickly rebounded and currently sits above $79,000, posting a notable 2.5% weekly increase. Other altcoins such as Solana (SOL) have also seen significant gains, with SOL's token surging past $100 for the first time since late January.
Ripple (XRP) is expanding its Wall Street push with a new institutional trading business called Ripple Prime, which will allow hedge funds and other institutional clients to execute Total Return Swaps across US-listed equities, indices, and cryptocurrencies.
