BTC Tops $80,000 as Major Assets Gain Traction on MEXC
MEXC, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, saw a significant surge in spot trading activity on its platform as Bitcoin (BTC) reached $80,000 and other major assets like Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and XRP gained traction. From August 20 to 22, the average daily spot trading volume of BTC, ETH, SOL, and XRP increased by approximately 299% compared to the previous period. This growth was not limited to BTC, as ETH, SOL, and XRP saw a combined average daily trading volume exceeding that of BTC.
The shift in trading composition had begun to emerge on August 19, when the combined trading share of ETH, SOL, and XRP rose from 30.5% to 46.7%, indicating growing interest in these assets before BTC broke above $80,000. On August 25, when BTC topped $80,000, its spot trading volume increased by approximately 164%, while ETH, SOL, and XRP saw even greater gains.
As market sentiment strengthens, trading demand can rotate quickly across major assets, making trading costs and execution efficiency increasingly important for users seeking to respond to market movements.
