BTCPay, a platform for Bitcoin payments, has temporarily restricted external remote access to its Lightning Network nodes due to a hacking incident. The measure blocks wallets like Zeus from connecting to nodes through BTCPay's server domains or Tor addresses.

BTCPay advised users to check their systems for any unusual payment records, unexpected channel closures, unknown peer connections, and discrepancies between on-chain and Lightning balances.

The platform reported the hack on August 9, when it temporarily limited external access to its Lightning nodes. BTCPay urged users to update their systems and monitor their accounts for any suspicious activity.
