BTCS Inc., a blockchain infrastructure and decentralized finance (DeFi) company, has expanded its Imperium business line onto Base, an Ethereum Layer-2 network created by Coinbase.

This marks Imperium's first operation beyond the Ethereum mainnet. Base is designed to process transactions faster and at lower costs than Ethereum's main network.

Charles Allen, CEO of BTCS, stated that operating across multiple networks and assets allows them to provide liquidity where volume and demand shift, with Base being their first step beyond Ethereum mainnet.

The company reported a significant growth in Imperium's assets deployed in paired liquidity pools, increasing from approximately $8 million at the end of the second quarter to around $36 million currently. This growth positions BTCS to exceed its $6 million gross profit target for the year.
