BTDR Stock Surges on Bullish News of Expanded Bitcoin Mining Capacity and AI Lease Agreements
Bitdeer Technologies Group's stock has surged by 7.03% after releasing bullish news about expanding its Bitcoin mining capacity and AI lease agreements. The company announced a $4.7 billion, 16-year AI/HPC data center lease in Norway and a full long-term subscription of the 9.5MW A102 Malaysia AI cloud site with over $800 million in contracted revenue. This comes on top of the company's significant growth in Bitcoin production, which jumped by 322% year-over-year to 1,190 BTC in July.
The recent deals and growth have led analysts to raise their price targets for BTDR stock. Barclays initiated coverage with an Overweight rating and a $15 target, while H.C. Wainwright reiterated a Buy on BTDR with a $25 target. B. Riley cut its target from $23 to $21 but still maintains a Buy rating.
Bitdeer Technologies Group's balance sheet shows real leverage, but the company is relying on project-level debt secured by contracted cash flows and customer prepayments. This reduces the pressure for constant equity raises, which is a relief for traders who hate dilution. The key for traders now is discipline, as BTDR's volatility will cut both ways.
