BTQ Acquires QPerfect for Quantum Security Ambitions
BTQ Technologies has made a significant move in its quest to become a full-stack quantum security business. The company has completed its acquisition of QPerfect SA, a French firm specializing in software and control systems for neutral-atom quantum architectures, for approximately €18.59 million. This deal brings together two core products: MIMIQ, a quantum software emulation platform capable of stable simulations at 100 or more qubits, and QLU, a digital twin modeling and control system.
The acquisition is seen as a crucial step in building a vertically integrated stack for BTQ, covering everything from the physics layer to network security applications. The company's existing business centers on post-quantum cryptography and quantum-secure networking, but with this deal, it has gained the missing hardware and emulation layer.
The earnout structure of up to €5.67 million tied to future performance milestones is notable, as it protects BTQ if the technology underdelivers while also providing a strong financial incentive for the founding team to perform.
