Bukele Disputes Report on El Salvador's Massive Bitcoin Reserve Transfer

El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele has strongly rejected reports that his government transferred control of over 7,763 BTC in state reserves to a private operator.

The report by El País claimed that the government had passed ownership and operational control of these Bitcoin holdings to a third party, sparking concerns about the security and stability of El Salvador's crypto strategy.

Bukele clarified that the IMF's recent statements regarding the Chivo wallet pertained only to this specific digital wallet, not the country's strategic Bitcoin reserves.

This clarification aims to reassure both domestic and international stakeholders about the government's commitment to its Bitcoin strategy, which has been a key component of El Salvador's financial policy.
