Bundesbank First to Deploy Open-Source Permissioning Engine
Matter Labs has open-sourced its permissioning engine, Prividium, making it available for institutions to run and modify in their own environments. The first institution to test and deploy the engine is Deutsche Bundesbank.
The move allows organizations like banks to operate a permissioned blockchain from public code without entering a commercial agreement with Matter Labs. However, administration tools and integrations remain commercial products.
Prividium is designed to keep transaction data inside an institution's infrastructure, verify transaction correctness with zero-knowledge proofs, and anchor settlement to Ethereum.
