Bunni DEX Permanently Shuts Down After $8.4 Million Security Breach
A decentralized exchange built on Uniswap V4 technology has permanently shut down after an $8.4 million security breach drained its reserves.
The hack, which occurred on September 2, exploited Bunni DEX's custom liquidity system using flash loans to manipulate calculations and wipe out funds across Ethereum and Unichain networks.
The platform's total value locked had surged from $2.2 million to nearly $80 million before the attack eliminated months of growth in seconds.
The team behind Bunni DEX said it lacks the funds needed to relaunch, with six to seven figures required for comprehensive audits and monitoring systems.
